Participating in a gun buy back program because you think criminals have too many guns is like castrating yourself because you think your neighbors have too many kids.

I'm not sure. It depends on what guns the government is banning. I do think people should have less kids & try to adopt &/or help the ones & families here. =] <3

Not really, b/c one is dangerous in the wrong hands and the other isn't. Besides that, why would someone WANT to give back a gun if they're not a criminal themselves?

I was shot by a guy who got his gun "legally" through a loophole that exists when a gun vendor makes a private sale at a gun show and doesn't make the buyer do a background check.

The guy knew this about it and went to a gun show in Nevada, bought some guns using cash to do it, then took them back to California and used them to rob a bank. He shot three people with one of the guns.

They were all on probation for prior felonies when the guy purchased the guns, but they were still able to get the firearms "legally" even though the state of California's Probation system told them they're not allowed to have a gun while they're on probation.

If the Probation office is intelligent enough to prohibit them from having guns, why the hell can't the gun shows do the same and require background checks for everyone?

It's true that criminals will steal guns, but these guys didn't b/c they didn't have to. They bought the things right under our noses, so to speak and then used them to commit several crimes.
