Chinese zodiac signs aren't really much. Every one born in that year has that sign and just that. There is more than just your sun sign..

It's often said that two people of the exact same sun signs are so similar that they it might not work well since two similar energies are too intense. It really depends on the person though. If you like eachother then it should work fine. You really must decide for yourself, since astrology doesn't predict with 100 percent accuracy.
In terms of Chinese astrology. Your Chinese sign indicates approximately which sign you JUPITER is in. Snake is the equivalent of Taurus approximately in western astrology. Snakes have Jupiter either in or very close to the sign of Taurus. Tigers have jupiter in or very close to the sign of aquarius. I've read that opposite chinese zodiac signs are the ones that don't get along well. Snake and Tiger aren't opposite, so supposedly that should work by chinese astrology. It isn't "favorable", but it isn't terrible.
