Mother cat not producing milk?
We have a cat who got out and got pregnant. It's her first litter and she's been doing fine so far, 3 out, one on the way. But for some reason she's not producing milk. It's been almost 3 hours since the first one came out, and still there's no milk. I squeezed her back nipples just to make sure, and they're completely dry. It's 3 am and nothing is open so I can't get KRM to feed them. What do I do?
Will the kittens be alive and okay waiting until a store opens in the morning? I couldn't handle seeing them die.

It has been some hours since you posted and hopefully you have had some success. Your vet should have replacement milk as will the stores. I suggest you take mom and babies into your vet so he can check out the family. The mother will probably need an injection to help clear her out and help with the milk production. If mom has a problem it is best you find out now - the kittens will be hungry so the sooner they feed the better they will be. Good luck!

Cats don't always produce milk right away. Give it a little while after she's had all of her kittens and check again. If she still hasn't produced milk and the kittens seem distressed, then I would suggest checking with a vet.
