Atheists: How did we have our own unique emotions from the time we were born?

This leads me to ask why you don't believe in God, because we didn't just miraculously think going out of our mother's womb.

You are right. There are was nothing miraculous or, put another way, no "miracle" whatsoever. Your personality and my personality is the sum total of the neurological make up that you were born with plus and minus the rewards and punishments that occur in life that effect your neurological make up. "Personality" is nothing more than a biologically predisposed method of achieving certain outcomes with your environment. There isn't much that is unique about it. I smile when I'm happy, I frown when I'm sad. I call things that are true "facts", I call things that are not true "fiction", and I call things that are fiction but presented as fact "religion".

There are many scientific theories and explanations, but it certainly has to do with chemical reactions and neural interactions within our brains, which are already making connections from the moment we are born.

The brain is an amazing, interesting thing, and scientists don't know all the answers to all of its mysteries, however we are constantly getting closer every day. Thanks to science.

    "What are emotions?

We often talk about brains as information-processing systems, but any account of the brain that lacks an account of emotions, motivations, fears, and hopes is incomplete. Emotions are measurable physical responses to salient stimuli: the increased heartbeat and perspiration that accompany fear, the freezing response of a rat in the presence of a cat, or the extra muscle tension that accompanies anger. Feelings, on the other hand, are the subjective experiences that sometimes accompany these processes: the sensations of happiness, envy, sadness, and so on. Emotions seem to employ largely unconscious machinery—for example, brain areas involved in emotion will respond to angry faces that are briefly presented and then rapidly masked, even when subjects are unaware of having seen the face. Across cultures the expression of basic emotions is remarkably similar, and as Darwin observed, it is also similar across all mammals. There are even strong similarities in physiological responses among humans, reptiles, and birds when showing fear, anger, or parental love.

Modern views propose that emotions are brain states that quickly assign value to outcomes and provide a simple plan of action. Thus, emotion can be viewed as a type of computation, a rapid, automatic summary that initiates appropriate actions. When a bear is galloping toward you, the rising fear directs your brain to do the right things (determining an escape route) instead of all the other things it could be doing (rounding out your grocery list). When it comes to perception, you can spot an object more quickly if it is, say, a spider rather than a roll of tape. In the realm of memory, emotional events are laid down differently by a parallel memory system involving a brain area called the amygdala.

One goal of emotional neuroscience is to understand the nature of the many disorders of emotion, depression being the most common and costly. Impulsive aggression and violence are also thought to be consequences of faulty emotion regulation."

enable's take a sampling of atheist comments on the following and then make a determination. i don't think of all atheists are immoral or evil. yet to be thoroughly uncomplicated, if there is an extra desirable argument to make for there being a God, this is that there is a clean massive massive difference between the way Christians manage others (certain, even on the following) and atheists manage others. Christians can't take credit for that massive difference by utilising the way. Christians are in uncomplicated words diverse interior the way they manage others because they have switched over lives. God does the artwork. i'm in uncomplicated words gazing what I see on the following. i have considered human beings brokenhearted soliciting for help and assorted the comments that the atheists make are appalling. do not get me incorrect, i'm no longer mad at atheists. I actual have compassion for them. yet I do see a clean massive massive difference in habit.

Infants do not "think". They react to and observe their environment, and soak it all in like little sponges. Yes, some are fussy and some are quiet. Some are active and some more passive. Don't take that to mean that your imaginary god touches each infant and molds its personality. It's merely a random result of how their individual brains developed in the womb, just like fingerprints.

Some things are a hereditary predisposition. I can easily see that my father's side of the family is predisposed towards being depressed. This doesn't control me, but I have to watch out for it.

The rest is your own personal experiences. Growing up in your environment, family, friends, joys, sorrows, etc.

ONCE AGAIN: Just because you don't know the answer to an observed phenomenon doesn't mean you throw divinity into the equation!

To answer your question, emotion is universal in all animals. They are present in their own form from complex life such as ours to primitive insect life. Emotions are literally chemical imbalances in the brain; they are there to help us survive. Emotions arise from evolution.

Its human nature. Emotions are feelings, they don't require deep though and once a child is born they tend to have a fully functioning brain with the ability to process information. So you are saying babies are brain dead then? Gee you're a smart one

So you're asking why humans have certain inherent properties... It's called genetics.

Why are humans human shaped when we're born? See above answer.
