Severe sore throat for 4 days - ouch!, what is it?

No pus/white stuff just very red and extremly painful to swallow/sneeze. Taking regular pracetamol/sore throat balsam stuff - but 4 days on??!!, getting miffed off with it now. Scared to even speak upon waking. Had tonsillitus once. Any soothing remedies most welcome. I don't go to the doc for such things and of course it is a bank holiday weekend here in the UK, so no chance of doc appoint until AT LEAST Tuesday. Could it be that strp throat, larengytus or something?.

Oh and to add insult to injury, had an upset stomach today also...nice, don't know if it connected to my throat thing. help me please, many thanks

Maybe you should consult a doctor to have it checked out the doctor might be able to give you some antibiotics which may help the sore throat and your stomach upset .

I guess you're just overreacting, but you wouldn't know what it is except you go to the doctor after the bank holiday weekend thing. But I guess 4 days of sore throat are normal, sore throat usually takes like 1 week until it heals completely. If 1 week has passed and you don't see any results, then you surely need to go to the doctor. Maybe you're not taking the right medicine for that condition or something. Hope you'll feel alright asap!
