Have you ever tried adding radishes to kabobs when grilling?

I'm going to grill steak and chicken for Father's Day. My husband loves grilled vegetables and I'd like to have some different veggies for him. If you have other suggestions, I'll appreciate them.

I have never grilled radishes so that would be a new one for me, and if you haven't grilled them first, it may be worth a try to see what they taste like if you haven't had them before

    There is a recipe here

    Grilled Radishes

Preparing radishes this way mellows out their innate spiciness.

    Here’s what you need…

•Radishes, rinsed and sliced fairly thin. (For an extra special touch, cut them on a bias.)

    •Radish greens, rinsed and chopped

    •Garlic, sliced thinly

    •Salt & pepper to taste

    •Oil and foil for grilling

•Balsamic vinegar & olive oil (Optional)

    •Green onion, chopped (Optional)

    Let’s get busy…

1.Prep all your ingredients and head outside. (see pic below)

2.Heat up your grill and put down a piece of foil over the grate.

3.Add a drizzle of oil and your radishes.

4.Season with salt and pepper. Keep turning the radishes until they start to soften and take on some color.

    5.Add your garlic.

6.If you have extra space on your foil for the greens, add them now. Season with salt and pepper.

7.Remove the greens and radishes onto a plate when they reach the doneness you prefer.

8.Serve the radishes over the greens and drizzle a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar if you prefer. Enjoy!

    This could be a tip

“Sliced radishes are grilled in a foil packet with garlic and butter. It's a terrific, simple side dish!”

I tend to stick to more regular things to skewer.

Mushrooms are good on kabobs ,also egg plant, onions, and zucchini .I would be inclined to put the radishes in the salad with tomatos, spring onions cucumber and fresh herbs.Corn cobs and potato cakes are also nice done on the grill.

I do not believe conventional radish would work out but daikon radish the white one is often cooked and would be worth a try other veggies often grilled are eggplant, peppers, zucchini ,leeks, a parsnip would work too and is sweet when cooked.
