Is hei from darker than black a good guy?

He's not a bad guy, but I wouldn't call him a good guy either. He isn't evil and he does his best not to involve innocent people, but its not like he goes out of his way to help others. Like the other guy said he has saved that cop on occasion, but that was only because she keeps getting stuck in the middle of his business.

It depends on how you see him really. I agree though, a good way to describe him would be neither good or bad.

Personally, I think he's definitely a good character. For example, look at how much he cared about his little sister and Yin. I think the gaiden specials also showed a good and softer side to him. A lot of people assume he is a bad guy because he kills but he's just doing his missions in the syndicate. In the season 1 OVA there was a part he could of killed Mayu, but he didn't, so that shows he doesn't kill people for no reason. He may threaten people e.g Kirihara but he doesn't kill her.

You do see a darker and more violent side to him in Gemini of the Meteor, but to be fair, he did have a reason to become like that, and towards the end of the series he managed to clean himself up. So I think he's a good character.

Heck no, he's not a good guy. He is two-faced. What kind of hero changes personalities that easily? Did you see how much food that guy could put away? Heroes aren't gluttonous. Dude is a freaking gourmand. How many times did he backhand a girl while downing a cold one? And that power of his--he electrocutes people until they empty their bladders and void their bowels. He's all: time to drink, time to eat, time to practice deceit, time to slap a dame, time to shock someone to death. That guy is evil.

Hes a good guy (at least that's what I believe) cause he never killed or injured anyone who was unrelated to his quest. He tried to save the female cop and also he did not wanted to kill the kid that was hunting him but like you said he is Bad@ss who wouldn't stop until he gets there.
