What is the best quality gas brush cutter?

I have had it with Craftsman - my current one is a 2 cycle model 316.711190. Just stopped working in the middle of using it. Replaced spark plug, and cracked the spark plug boot. Cleaned out carb. Just won't start, period. I've had it about 13 months, and lately everything I buy that says Craftsman is just complete garbage. Anyway I am sick of their cheaply made garbage and want something that will actually last a few years, not need a new carb every year, and not have cheap parts like cracking spark plug boots. I swear I think these days Sears is making crap that they know you can only fix at a Sears service center. Tanaka? Hitachi? Cub Cadet?

I am a big fan of Echo power equipment. Mine is 12 years old and the only repair it has needed was replacing the primer bulb. $5 and 10 minutes. Ethanol rotted the original from inside. They seem to be more reliable than Husqvarna but I would never buy any gas powered tool at Home Depot. Buy it from a dealer with a service department. Other quality brands are Shindaiwa, Stihl, Jonsereds and Tanaka. I won't say any of these is better than the others. Base your decision on the dealer's reputation for service.

I think for the money, Echo is the best. They sell at Home Depot and other places. Get a straight shaft model for little over $200. They are professional quality and I think the engines are guaranteed for a great number of hours. They always start. They are Shindawah and Stihl quality and a lower price.
