Do you think I have insomnia?

I'm 15 years old, I don't have very much stress in my life, my family life is good and I have great friends, no drama. It's summer vacation so school isn't getting me down either. I am not over weight and I work out at around noon every day to every other day. I've tried everything but I just can't sleep at night!

It's been happening since I was 13, I just lie in bed wide awake. I toss and turn some but not a lot, I mostly just lie there. I've tried every herbal tea out there and I've been on different dosages of melatonin but it hasn't done anything for me. I don't eat or workout within 3 hours before I try to sleep. I have also tried showering/bathing before bed and drinking warm milk. I don't read or study or do anything on my bed except sleep and my room is pitch black at night. I don't have a tv in my room and I don't use my cell phone, laptop or iPad within an hour before I try to sleep. I have literally tried everything! Do you have any other suggestions? Could I have a sleeping disorder? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. I stayed up for 3 days straight once because of it. In a week I'd probably get and average of maybe 10 hours.. I tried everything like you too.. Basically for me I took melatonin 10grams I think, do I did that for a few days around an hour before I wanted to sleep, and it really helped. It's natural by the way, it just make your brain produce more of the sleeping chemical. No side effects except I've heard you could dream a tiny but more than usual. :P I'd say it's worth a try, if it doesn't work then make an appointment with your doctor. Good luck! :)
