why do recipes use one type of cup for dry ingredients but another clear cup with lines for liquid ingredient?
with lines for liquid ingredients and why for dry or liquid ingredients are the spoon measures the same
Emma; I'm trying to find out what the difference is but you simply told me they were different and that doesn't answer my question. I already know that there is a difference between solids and liquids but the volume is the same. However, thank you for your attempt.

Liquids will level themselves off naturally, so you can use the clear cup with lines. Solids will not, so you use the other type of cup, and the back edge of a knife to level it off.
If you try to use the dry cup for liquids, you will either underfill it, or if you fill it to the top you may spill it before you can add it to the bowl.
