I can't type partial derivative symbols, so you'll have to interpret my "d" as the partial symbol.
(1) (dT/dv) at constant s = - (dp/ds) at constant v
(dT/dp) at constant s = (dv/ds) at constant p
(dp/dT) at constant v = (ds/dv) at constant T
(dv/dT) at constant p = - (ds/dp) at constant T
The Maxwell relations are used in deriving the Clausius-Clapeyron equation, in constructing tables of thermodynamic data, but I don't know what one would say is their "main" application.
(2) This is well done in Adkins, "Equilibrium Thermodynamics," but I can't find my copy right now. Maybe you can find it in a library.
