If in-state police checkpoints continually asking you to show Id while you refuse, is that consider detaining?

In a checkpoint inside US, a police ask you to show ID then you refuse by saying "I do not need to answer question and I do not need to show my id," and yet the police continue to ask questions and trying to convince to pull over to conduct searches while I refuse for over 10-20 min until I was let go to the road without getting pulled over on the side. Would that consider be detaining?

And say you want to say "am I free to go?" and the police still insist on saying to show your ID and pull over for over 10-20min until finally let go without getting pulled over on the side, would that be also considered detaining?

Please provide evidence if so or if not. I just want to know if police have the right to do that. Just for curiosity purposes. Giving links that supports your evidence would be much appreciated.

And yeah, I always show my Id when asked. This is just for curiosity.

First off if a police officer asks for your ID while you're driving and you refuse they'll definitely detain you driving isn't a right it is a privilege in every state in the union and you have to prove you have that privilege when they ask. Harley is wrong it is totally Constitutional for the state to control transportation in their jurisdiction this is why the can ticket and or arrest you for traffic violations and they can force you to register your vehicle and carry insurance they have every right to set up check points too. The cops aren't going to argue with you for any amount of time they'll just arrest you for failure to comply with a lawful order.

100% unconstitutional and illegal but the police just don't care
