I've been singing a lot and now my throat hurts.?

How do I make my throat stop hurting? I've literally sang for 3 hours straight.

Happens to me aaaall the time haha :) what works for me is to give it a break for the rest of the day, and sip some honey and cinnamon tea (I like mine cold but it's a matter of taste!) good luck feel better soon!!

If it hurts at all, you aren't doing it right. It's the same as screaming in a song. Some warm, slightly salty water should help. Try gargling it. Or you could try honey or a soothing hot cup of tea. You should also use warm or lukewarm water before and during singing to warm up your vocal cords. Don't ever drink anything cold before, during, or after, as it will put your throat in shock. Also stay away from soda. Remember it's not all about singing your heart out, most singers don't let all their breath out while singing. It would suck for you to hyperventilate and pass out. Try to refrain from talking and remember that if you must talk, do not whisper as it puts more strain on your voice than regular level talking. You will be fine very soon, if you follow my words.

    1) don't do that again

    2) try something cold like icecream or a Popsicle

    3) if cold doesn't work, have some hot soup or hot chocolate
