how should i design my dorm room?

Did you already move in? Chances are you will not have a lot of space, you will be sharing it with at least one other person, and none of you will have a lot of money. This doesn't leave much for design options, lol. Talk to your roommates. See what each of you has already and can bring. When I lived in the dorms I put my bed as high as a could, tucked a tapestry under the mattress it as a bed skirt and used the under the bed space for storage. Also, if it's possible try to make one corner of your room a "kitchen" with your mini fridge, toaster, coffee maker, etc. and a lamp. That way you won't have to disturb your roommates if they are sleeping and you are trying to make breakfast for an early class, coffee for an all-nighter, or drunk food and vice versa.
