I just had a baked red potato...?
I put some unsalted butter and sea salt with fresh cracked black pepper.
So simple, but absolute delicious.
Do you have a favorite food or dish that is simple, but good that you think is delicious?
I use unsalted butter because I like the taste of sea salt.
I can control the amount of salt I use.

For me, it's hard to beat simple scrambled eggs, cooked over medium heat without salt or pepper. I use a heat proof silicone spatula to slowly stir the eggs, and they come out perfectly. Our parrot gets really upset if he doesn't get his share.

David is right, I just had scrambled eggs for lunch. they were bacon, onion, and cheddar cheese. Yum.
another is home fries. Cut a raw or cooked already potato into fourths the long way, then slice them. Use a heavy skillet, and bacon grease. Cook until crispy on at least one side, and hot and done all through.
I love to serve these with ketchup, and I sometimes brown some onion for them.
Deviled eggs. so easy. boil them, let them cool, mix the yolks with dry mustard and mayo, and you have it. So yum.
Toasted cheese sandwich. so easy. Use white bread, and I buy real american cheese, Kraft Deluxe, it is so much better than cheese food, and melts like a dream. I use two slices.
French toast. Dip slightly stale bread into raw scrambled eggs, put in a few drops of vanilla if you want, and fry in butter in teflon until browned both sides. Some warm syrup, and you have nirvana.
and dessert. I love haystacks. so simple. buy chinese noodles in the can, and some cocktail peanuts and a package of butterscotch morsels. Melt the morsels, pour them over the noodles and a 1/2 cup of peanuts, stir until coated. Put them on waxed paper by big tablespoons full, and let them harden. I put them in the refrigerator for a bit.
And, put frosting, homemade or purchased, in between graham cracker squares. Rivers uses powdered sugar, margarine, cocoa powder, and some leftover hot coffee as the liquid for some quick no cook cheap frosting. Allrecipes.com has the recipe amounts.

why bother with unsalted butter when you are adding salt to it anyway?
butter has about a teaspoon of salt per 5 pounds!! miniscule amount.
baked onion! cut top and bottom off onion, cut into wedges put butter and salt on it and cook like a potato in microwave! Fantastic!
