Because the left's progressivist puppet masters insist that the administration reigns in Syria for them at all costs.

I have no idea. I'm not shocked or anything, he is a politician, but I can't say that I would've predicted it.

My guess is that he's thinking about running for president again, and he wants to be able to say that he can take a tough stand on foreign policy, to try to win over the more conservative elements of the independents and the moderates.

Or maybe he's just a crazy, evil dumb@ss.
