If anyone here is allergic to aspartame, how does it affect you?

I have no vices in the world except chewing sugarless gum...unfortunately I have reason to believe I've developed an allergy to the junk, AAAAAAAhahahahah.

Maybe I'll go for the "curiously peppermints" instead w/almost no sugar in them whatsoever.

Update:

I am not diabetic, though imagine a lotta ppl here who are, use aspartame ~well use sugar free stuff for eats/drinks if they do not use stevia. Stevia gum doesn't have much flavor to my taste buds, boohoo.

So will just have to suffer or turn 100% INTO a health nut.

I do have lyme disease (chronic I believe) so cannot have sugar whatsoever, except fruit but not on an empty stomach.

So what are your allergic reactions to aspartame?~if yas has them.

I can not consume aspartame. I would not call an allergy, though.

It causes a severe headache at the back of my head. This suggests it is more of a neurological problem.
