I am looking for a phrase. Any suggestions?

What's a good phrase to say good-bye to someone who is knowingly dying or they have received terrible news. No 'god', 'pray', 'prayers', 'heaven' or anything with a reference to religion is allowed. Examples would be a terminally ill cancer patient in their hospital bed, or parents of that same child, or anyone who has just received that bad news. The old go-to "My thoughts and prayers are with you" is not allowed. The phrase has to be applicable to someone that is just an acquaintance.

    What's wrong with "Good-bye"?

Usually when people say they'll pray for you, it's to make themselves feel better. They get to feel like they're doing something to help you, when really all they're doing is talking to themselves.

How about just "My thoughts are with you", without the prayers part added?
