My neutered cat keeps humping soft things?
He was neutered at the recommended age 4+ years ago. I read somewhere that it means he wants attention but when i tried petting him he got mad and his meow sounded weird.
He hasn't been injured or otherwise traumatized so I don't know why he suddenly has started humping. He never did it before and he acts normal when he isnt doing that.

It's a comforting behavior. Females can do it as well. It's no different than a human child who sucks his thumb, or carries a blanket around. We tend to be a bit upset by it as we view it as a sexual act - it's not. You can distract him, or just ignore him. Why he started it now is anyone's guess. But it's harmless, and nothing to worry about.
