Re: atheists and paranoia.?

@John- Thank you for the article. It was helpful. I like the Scientific American. Good choice...

I'm not being argumentative, but it was interesting to note that even atheist parents prefer people of faith to watch over their children...something for both of us to think about.

@ James K.-I'm so sorry that religious people have made your life so hard. We are instructed to live in love and compassion. But there are many immature or unreasonable people who use religion as a weapon instead of a source of inspiration to become their best selves.

Please understand that we're not all like this. Just as I believe that the vast majority of atheists are good people, I feel the same about people of faith.

John let me know a credible statistical source.

Understand that everyone is evolving their own way, including you and I.

    Horseshit!

You say " interesting to note that even atheist parents prefer people of faith to watch over their children...something for both of us to think about.":

We do not examine the religious credentials of baby sitters.

As young parents we once we had a mature women perhaps, in her fifties, as a child sitter who turned out to be a proselytizing member of Jews for Jesus.

We returned home to have our 6 and 8 year olds reporting to us that the sitter alarmed them with “A burglar is outside the window.” She proceeded to tell the kids to pray real hard to Jesus to make the bad guy go away. So They all prayed And guess what?!?... and the burglar went away.

Dishonest proselytizing always includes that fear factor.

The nuns and priests alerted us to Hell. They told us to pray real hard to Jesus over and over and over to, basically, make Hell go away.

Just one of my reasons to despise proselytizers. They always use dishonesty and fear as a tool.

    So no
