Depends on the circumstance, the kind of character a person is working on, the gravity of the situation. There are many battles in life, but only one war. War is no way to live life, especially when peaceful avenues can always be found in just about any situation. Takes practice to hone skills for finding peaceful alternatives to combat, until the only paths that increasingly remain in many situations involve peace.
How far? As far as it takes to realize there are better ways to deal with life than justified hostility, so far as to master these alternatives at least for the most part. Life is pushy enough, coping with all such forces, in part requires changing one's self-image from that of being a lightweight mouse easily pushed all over the place, psychologically speaking, to that of being aa mighty Godzilla not easily unsettled even by a hurricane.
How far? As I mentioned, depends, but, if pushing back is the preferred solution then without cultivating positive alternatives, the individual will have war, and in abundance. Not a very appealing prospect, for someone like me who discovered and for the most part now prefers the alternatives over justified retaliation. IMHO. -Pat

Only little. I think it's best to assume the best intentions in people at first, but if they push you around again take it seriously and fight back. Fight back in a civilised manner i.e. ask them why they are doing this and tell them to stop, and if they don't stop after that then its get violent.(But don't take everything personally from first glance of course, that's just autistic)

There are many ways to resist or fight back but revenge is a dish best served cold
and not in a temper!

I'll give you an example: when does the dear start to atack the wolves which are hunting it? When the deer has not any other option to save its life.
When will start someone to fight back? When he can't take it anymore, when being strong is the only choice left for him.
I hope it helped you :)

When infringing upon others, you should always expect them to fight back-for those who allow themselves to take and take it, when they they finally decide to fight back I recommend you repent .

Have zero tolerance, don't put up with it, go for help, anything, don't you see, that person is doing this to you, fight back now!
