Unstable Older Friend With Emotional Problems?

I have befriended a man that is in his 50's. We met at work last year. He seemed great at first. But now, I'm discovering he has extreme emotional problems. He seems to take my beliefs on life with a grand assault. He has epilepsy just like I do. But, he uses his epilepsy, as an excuse to not try to do things for himself. He choses to not work, ever since he got fired. Anyways, I find he never wants to listen. Yet, I find myself feeling like his counselor all the time. He doesn't like serious topics. He doesn't like it, if I ask if he is gay. He claims he is not gay. Yet, he goes to gay clubs, and gets pedicures and goes with gay friend at times. Today he screamed from the top of his lungs at me over the phone. Just over a topic. My question was does his friend have his best of intentions. He misunderstood and started screaming.

He treats me rude at times. Which I do not deserve. Because, I take him places because he can't drive. I take him grocery shopping take him to get his medicine etc. Yet, I am a bad guy and he gets so defensive. This friendship has also become romantic. It's starting to feel like that is all we can get along with. But, conversations no.

Why are you still in this guy's life? He disrespects you and life's too short to be someone's punching bag. Dump him and find someone else whom you're compatible with. Good luck.
