Need help picking out a prom dress!?
Light brown hair, brown eyes, 5'7".
I'm thinking lighter colors, like a light pink, light green, something along those lines. Any suggestions as to what color or style would be great! Links to dresses are also welcome and would be much appreciated (preferably under $300).
Also, bonus thanks to anyone who can suggest shoes as well! Thanks in advance!

The color of your skin will tell what color of dress you should get :)
I had light brown hair, pale skin and brown eyes. I wore a form-fitting maroon dress with beads and it flared out at the bottom. It had a sweetheart style top. I wore nude heels. I wore a light nude lip color and black eyeliner and false lashes. I curled my hair too :) For a different dance (homecoming) I wore this: http://www.idreamprom.com/2014-new-short-strapless... with strappy crystal heels
Try to stick to jewel tones! Have nude heels (in your skin color).

For the colors you like here are some examples:

Pick your favorite color. Lavender & turquoise are my favorite colors. What's yours?
I don't recommend buying anything FITTED formal online. Have you watched Toddlers & Tiaras? One mother bought a toddler's outfit for her toddler costing thousands of dollars and it arrived the day of her pageant. It didn't fit on her, and she ended up exchanging her dress to another toddler in the pageant.
Example from YA! "I bought a strapless dress in the smallest size but its still big. Does anyone know how to fix this problem without taking it to get fitted right? And also I lost the receipt so I can't take it back." 2nd example: "so i just got my prom dress in and i have to alter the top bc it is too big. the only problem is that the top of my dress is all covered in jewels... and the zipper is on the side. is it still possible to alter it to make it smaller ?? it looks really bad :("
As a seamstress myself, if you want yours altered, I charge $35hr. Just saying AND you need to be present to be properly fitted. One actually gave me an estimate of $55 hr. just for sleeves, IF IT'S lined!
