Regarding renagade rancher Cliven Bundy?

I saw this cartoon on azspot.net regarding renegade rancher Cliven Bundy, does anyone agree with it or not? What about the quotes/links regarding Cliven Bundy via azspot.net's search engine i.e.

"Cliven Bundy is an anarchist and lawbreaker who should be arrested and thrown in jail. He has been illegally trespassing on federal land with his cattle since the nineties and now he owes over a million dollars to Uncle Sam. He refuses to pay it. He is wrapping himself around the flag, and thanks to FOX News and right wing pundits he has been praised in some circles as a true American patriot. Why? He is no different than the “welfare cheat” who gets food stamps for children that he or she does not have, or who gets cash assistance from the department of welfare while working under the table?"

I've said he was a thief and cheat ever since this story broke. Show me the "Welfare Queen" that would haul in a million bucks in benefits in her entire lifetime. The US taxpayers have been subsidizing this mooch for a couple of decades - where's Paul Ryan's outrage? Where's Sean Hannity's moral fist where lawbreakers are concerned?

The worst part of the whole farce is the gun-loon who talking about hiding behind women if the lawmen came around with guns. These same people would have (and did) condemn Saddam Hussein parking tanks in schoolyards in the first Gulf War - these turds are PROUD of the "patriotism" they've shown - behind their cowardice.

The USA is supposed to be the "home of the brave," too bad those clowns aren't showing it.

The problem Bundy has is that the land he is grazing on was never state land. He is a mooch. He is a squatter. He has the attitude of a lot of greedy people, "what's yours is mine" and he stubbornly maintains this attitude.

Cattle ranching is hard work, but he has gotten a foolish idea that he has permanent rights to use land he doesn't own. Any private landowner can limit and halt the use of their property; the government can do the same. He is just greedy and grasping. He is trying to dominate the area to impose his will.

The reason he is willing to pay the state is because he has a few friends in the state government, some are elected officials, some are bureaucrats. He perceives his payments to the state government as paying for state services that help his little empire. The federal government doesn't provide services that helps his little empire.

In 1848, the United States purchased a large expanse of land in the south-western region of the United States from Mexico, known as the Mexican Cession. Nevada and the Bunkerville range are part of that land. Since then, the United States government has continuously owned the land in Nevada, which became a state in 1864.

This has nothing to do with "gold in California" - the US federal government purchased this land like it had purchased other lands in the past, such as the Louisiana Purchase.

"Repeat" until you pass out.. the authority is the court system, and they have already spoken... and they told him THE STATE DOES NOT OWN THE LAND, AND YOU DON'T DECIDE WHO YOU WANT TO PAY THE MONEY TO. I think I'll believe what the court says. Not you.

    edit

that is for "fast"... not the poster

    Bundy was in the wrong.

So is Dirty Harry and Colorado plus the BLM.

They have every right to confiscate his assets and sell them after due process. So explained please why the BLM destroyed the assets, killed and buried cattle that were healthy and marketable?

That is no way to recoup money owed.

    Why is their Real motivation???

Something is Very Rotten in Harry Reid's neighborhood.

    Bundy deservers prosecution.

Reid needs to be recalled and sent to a mental hospital.

If Bundy lacks respect for a Government that refuses to properly enforce Laws and follow the Constitution I can understand Why.

Plus the cartoon is so foolish and misdirected it can't be applied to Anything close to a Real situation.

He should pay his grazing fees or remove his cattle. It's very simple. As for 'patriot' he doesn't even recognize the United States or our laws so, no, I don't find that to be very 'patriotic'......and the fact that his militia team admitted to putting their women on the front lines to purposely have them killed so that 'it would be broadcast around the world' shows that they aren't playing with a full deck of cards.

It has been fun to watch the right-wing extremist idiots at Fox News (Bull**it Mountain) go to bat for this creep.

At the start, they wanted to portray him as a brave little guy, who was just trying to stand up

against the power of Barack Obama and the hard-hearted government in Washington. He became an instant hero for those pointy-headed right-wing sickos.

And then what happened? A video clip has turned up in which he says that "Negroes have forgotten how to pick cotton." They were "better off under slavery" he thinks, than living with their civil rights.

It's fun to see the neo-conservative imbeciles with so much egg on their faces.

They have been caught taking the side of an obvious lunatic.

It's spot on!!!!!! I think they captured Bundy, his gun toting supporters, and Hannity to a high degree of accuracy.

I love that they dragged my home town of NYC into it.

I'd like to see some cows at the Top of the Empire State Building.

Damn fascist thugs, preventing me from taking my cows to the Statue of Liberty!!!!!!

Wow! So uninformed and so willing to accept tyranny. As they say, a country gets the government it deserves. Also very sad.

Tony RB - remember what happened the year after the Mexican Cession? By golly, gold was found in California, so the politicians in Washington required all the new territories to agree that the US would own all unclaimed land upon their entry into the union. How convenient for the politicians - just in case more gold is found don't you know.... Do you think there was any coercion involved when they required every new state in the west to agree to the US land ownership deal. C'mon, get real.

I love it. I agree, and it is an excellent depiction of both, Hannity and Bundy.

He says that he does not recognize the Federal government while he wraps himself in the American flag..He will be taken to court and the courts will handle it. It doesn't matter who ownes the land...laws are laws.. no pay, no graze whether he recognizes the US government or not..
