I'm filing for divorce...Am i entitle to any money on my husband personal bank accounts even if my name wasn't on them ?
We have been married for 7 and a hAlf years, I will be filling for divorce soon, would I be entitle to any of his personal bank account $$$ ? would that be considered community property ?
And if so, can I add that info on the divorce even if I don't have the actual back accounts #'s?
We live in California

Typically you are both entitled to a portion (usually half) of all marital assets and debt....so you get some of his and he gets some of yours...

Yes you are entitled to 50%, but its difficult to get from his personal bank accounts. You have to hire an attorney and forensic accountant to get the bank account numbers. Its a very expensive process that takes time, but may be worth it if there is a lot of money involved. It can end up just costing you a lot of money if it ends up being a small amount. Hopefully he will just disclose the amounts voluntarily.
