Animes based around or based on 20th century warfare?

Update:

I'm not a fan of most fantasy anime but alternate reality animes are fine. I'm looking for films/OVAs/series which are about war or have war as a backdrop.

Ideally, I'd like the war to be set during the Cold War (Vietnam, Afghanistan or NATO vs Pact alternate reality etc.) era but im fine with the World Wars or modern to near future conflicts (Iran-Iraq, War on Terror and even alien invasion although I doubt I'd enjoy that as much).

Update 2:

Cyberpunk and police dramas are fine too.
