Exactly what defines "religion" as in accordance to the constitution?

Can a person be forced to join a religious sect with the threat of death upon refusal? Would that be more of a dictatorship government rather than a religion? Aren't there some so called "religions" so radical they should fall under the catagory of a government rather than a religion? How does the US government define the difference?

Religious freedom is the loop hole in the constitution. Technically being a mass murderer could be your religion, so while you can't force anyone to join, congress can't make any laws restricting it. Basically the only recognizable religions at the time were some variation of Christianity and maybe Judaism, so most courts would throw out the religious clause, but then again courts throw out the entire constitution so it's an irrelevant point, America does not exist any more.

I don't like the way kids are indoctrinated into their parents' religions with force. This gives parents an excuse to not be an example and to start the kids off without free choice. By the time the kid gets to adult age, his social contacts are completely what his parents want them to be.

Kids are not property and should be free to choose. Any parent that gets mad when I say this is living in a way that probably is so bad that he has to force his kids to copy him. Which is evidence of an evil religion.

According to the founders it was Christianity. They never considered anything other than Christ as Lord. All others were sects. This later included Mormonism.

If you make something up and call it religion.

    It is religion.

Hence, Scientolgy and the Mormon religion.
