will my cat mellow with age?

My cat is 6. She scratches little kids. Do some cats mellow out as they get older or do you still see her scrathing when she is like 10, 12 years old?

    Most cats tend to calm down in older age.

    ALL cats will scratch at little kids if they're being handled roughly. How about keeping the kids away from the cat until they understand to treat it with kindness and respect?
