My new kitten Alex is about 4 and a half to 5 months old. hides and freaks put everytime the door is open.

But then he comes out and is very friendly. Even with strangers once we get him out after the initial hide he is very friendly. We took him im my sisters bedroom and her friends baby met him and he was friendly. I can't figure out for the life of me though why he reacts this way to the door when someone comes in or we come up the stairs. HE was literally under my bed when I got home from work today and he slept with me these past 4 nights since he got home and usually loves me. But whenever that door opens he runs and hides or just bugs and with his eyes wide open sometimes. Long story short, is this an early sign of a kitten who will grow into an adult cat and hide all the time and be anti-social with people? I wanted a very friendly cat. He seemed that way at the foster house.

I just adopted a 4 or 5 month old black kitten yesterday! He I so cute and so beautiful. I named him Alex. He was super friendly at the shelter. He even went right in the cage. He came right to the door when my dad and I there. Now that he is at our house he runs when he hears someone open the door or footsteps gets scared and hides. The foster lady said he is SUPER FRIENDLY. He never acted like that before that I know of. But he is very affectionate towards me and my father and sister. Is he taking time to adjust? If so how long will it take.

Is it possible for a cat that is a bit outgoing at age 4 to be very shy at 7? My cat Miley fit some reason will not come in the slider door when people are over. I am not sure what this is from? I think she is still alright around people but seems more weary! Anyway, is it very likely for a cat to change from age 4 to age 7? Or is this all in my head?

My cat was very fiesty and even a tad skittish with strangers as a kitten. She has been much friendlier now. She is almost 7. What is the cause of this and what do you have to back it up?

My cat Miley is almost 7 (6 years and 8 months) she is starting to no stay outside as long but she is still very spastic and when strangers come over she just stares at them and acts crazy and aloof. She is not social, but she doesn't hide.

She just sits there with her eyes wide open, glaring (spastic like) or she just acts aloof. Could this change? When she is like 11 or 12 years old will she be calmer and could she get more social?

This winter, as many in the northeast know, has not been very snowy. I would just like to know when the pattern will become more conductive for snow.

My cat doesn't like little kids. She scratches them and I don't want to lock her away when kids come over. Is there a solution to this problem?
