Do kittens personalities change? I am going to adopt a kitten tomorrow. If I adopt a 2 month old kitten could it change a lot? No skittish!?

@Mamma Cat, cats are really social animals, and they learn really fast. So how their personality develops depends on the social contacts they have: If they get accustomed to humans during their first months, they will adapt to human behavior, if they get adopted after 6 months or later, they will take some time to learn the rules of their new environment, but I'd never say a cat is not able to adapt even if he/she is a couple of years old. It's just harder for them, and most of all, you can't train them.

A 2 month old kitten will readily adopt human rules, but as an adult cat, it will develop its own personality. You shouldn't try to avoid that or train against, but just watch and wonder. A cat you have raised is a friend for a lifetime, even if their actions sometimes make you wonder.

Yes. I foster kittens from birth to 2 months. I notice changes from a few weeks to a couple of months. I have adopted a few cats after age 2 months and their personalities totally change. They may be more loveing or more territorial.

That is why it is often suggested that you adopt a kitten that is 12 weeks old. It has learned lots from mom and is ready for his forever home. Are you going to adopt one or two siblings? That really makes a difference.

As a foster mom, my little bottle babies can't catch on to covering their litter. We really have to work with them. Also security. They want to nurse (but they have teeth and bite throw their bottles). So we have to allow some nursing with a stuffed toy that they can nurse on.
