How can I stop fearing of getting fat?

In recent months I've discovered a lot of information that I'd rather remain ignorant about, like why carbohydrates promote weight gain, why sitting for too long is bad, why you need to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Thanks to this **** I've developed the fear of getting fat, something I've never had a problem with before.

Has anybody ever had this problem and managed to forget about it and go back to their old habits? I'm nowhere near overweight and for the most part I probably consume less junk than the average person, but nowadays I can't get sleep if I know that I've sat for more than 3 hours today. How can I just let go?

I don't know how old you are, but it's not that uncommon for young people -- especially young girls -- to develop slight or major obsessions with their bodies, weight, exercise, and so forth. Obsessive-compulsive disorders and eating disorders can develop from these in some people.

If you're really having trouble functioning or falling asleep normally because fears about how long you've sat that day are interfering, you are probably in danger of OCD. You'd benefit from seeing a therapist for some cognitive behavioral therapy.

You might also benefit from some stress and anxiety-relieving activities as meditation and yoga.

Just weigh yourself once a week and set a pound limit. And allow your body to fluctuate at least 8 pounds. So say you're 130lbs and if you weigh yourself once a week and it remains in that fluctuating limit don't worry. If you go to 140lbs then you can worry. It's easier to stay on top of a few pounds than if you had gained more. Plus your pants will let you know as well.
