Help deciding on a title?

So I'm writing a book, but I can't decide on a title. I'm not going to post the summary because, let's face it, people steal those. However, I will tell you this:

• It's about witches; the main character is one

• It has a very dark mood

• The MC is an anti-hero. The book is focused a lot on the dark magic that she begins using during the book.

• There are vampires, but fear not because they do not sparkle is the sunlight. They are vampires like those from the original myths: no humanity, can only come out at night, hideous monsters, and drink human blood.

Here are my title ideas:

- Tenebrae

- The Shadow Walker

- Dare Me To Die

- The Art Of Darkness

Which is your favourite? Which oneso you find the most intriguing? I would love to hear your opinions and thanks in advance to anyone who helps :)

I like 'The Shadow Walker' the best just because it has the least amount of pretense to it, it feels the most mysterious.

Latin is attractive but feels unnecessary (it doesn't convey anything if the reader doesn't know the meaning of the word) and as a result is more artful than it is attractive or drawing.

'Dare Me to Die' feels too intense or rebellious for the sake of rebelling. I like a book that is thought out with characters that are less impulsive (not saying your book is or isn't any of those things!) this title just feels like it would be a poor representation of your character's motives. Motive can be very important to getting the reader to root for your character.

'The Art of Darkness' just leaves me with a bit of the same feelings as both of the other two titles, kind of too artful without drawing me in and also too intense without (again) making me feel drawn to it.

'The Shadow Walker' just leaves me with so many questions. Yes, it's dark which I know I'm attracted to (thank you for hooking me with a word I understand) but furthermore who or what is 'The Shadow Walker?' A person? A thing? A consequence? Did they choose to be what they are? And the walking part just feels like so much effortless power to it, also attractive. The title feels the least desperate for my attention and is doing the best job of making me want to pick it up and see what it's about.

Just some of my thoughts, good luck with finding the perfect title!

Hmm, cool, interesting summary/info thingy/plot you got there.

I think that 'Tenebrae' is a really cool title, but it may be a little hard to attract readers if they don't know what it means, or don't speak that language.

'The Shadow Walker' seems really intriguing, and it seems mysterious.

'Dare me to Die' seems more like a murder plot/mystery type story, which doesn't really, in my opinion, fit your plot (or at least what you've told us).

'The Art of Darkness' kind of reminds me of some evil sorcerer plotting in the shadows, which would work ...

So, these are my two final decisions: Tenebrae or the Shadow Walker. However, if you want the title itself to captivate people, I recommend that you choose the latter. If you, later on, feel that the title "Tenebrae" fits in better with the story, go with that!!

I write stories/fanfiction as well, and more than once, I changed the title of a story in the middle because I felt that the original title did not click in as well as the changed title. So don't fret too much over the title unless you have finished writing the book. As well, make sure you don't give too much away in the title. Actually, it's best if you confuse the readers a little bit, so when they get to the point the title starts to make sense, they go, "Ahhhh.....I see why she put that as the title now!!"

The title does not have to be set in stone in the beginning, because you, as the author, have full power to change it whenever you want :)

Good luck on writing your story!!
