I work for a company, and was issued a form 1099 misc. Can i claim mileage?

    Repeat, home to work is called commuting and is NEVER deductible. Being self-employed does not change this.

    From home to work and back, no. If your job during your workday requires driving your car for business, yes

    you can claim mileage if you have proof AND if you are itemizing all the rest of your deductions.
