Cat standing to pee. Any ideas ?
My 14 y/o neutered male cat has started (last 6 months) to stand to pee, instead of squatting. He still jumps and sits easily, and squats to poop but I am thinking arthritis.(??) Have a checkup in a week. Anyone seen this change in behavior related to anything I need to worry about ? (had to get a very tall litter box to protect my walls)

It could be he is spraying which is a type of marking. A cat will prowl his territory and spray mark everything that is his and also mark over other cats sprays. It's always best to take him in for a check just incase he miught have a urinary tract infection or a blockage with crystals which is common in cats and could be fatal. My 14-year-old cat has arthritis and I have started her on this remedy, which has (over the past 3 months) seemed to help her considerably. If you order from them, tell them Oreo (my cat) sent you: http://www.cannaforpets.com/
