Can mononucleosis recur?
I'm 23 and about two months ago I had a SEVERE sore throat for almost 5 days, way worse than the usual sore throat I've ever gotten from a cold. My tonsils swelled up and every time I tried to swallow my body literally shook because it was so painful. I went to the campus health clinic and the strep test was negative, so there's a good chance it was mono. Now I've had that same kinda sore throat for the past couple of days, and while its not as severe as last time its still worse than a cold.
Edit: I might also add that I had a case of bacterial pinkeye right before this recent sore throat started.
