I honestly didn't know the answer this. I looked it up and the only thing I could find is that cyts can rupture in kidneys, but didn't search very thoroughly. But I felt it necessary to say... what are you doing with this awful wife beating dude? Get AWAY from him, and go to the hospital! You sound like a nice person somehow just from that brief history. could be both an arthritis flare up, or a bruised kidney. check your urine for a bit, if you see any blood in it, get to your doctor or the ER. although honestly it sounds like you really need to call the police and have him arrested. before something worse ends up happening to you.
