Oatmeal for health and weightloss?

Im incorporating oatmeal into my diet for fiber and protein. It is plain instant oatmeal. No sugar added. Can I put water and oats into a coverd cup, place in a cool dry area overnight and eat in morning. I dont heat my oatmeal, its summer and I don' t like hot oatmeal for breakfast.

If you mix your water and oats and refrigerate them overnight, you can definitely eat them the next morning. However, that doesn't sound very tasty to me! I can definitely understand not wanting to eat hot oats in the summer so I would look up recipes for overnight oats! There are TONS of great ideas for mix-ins and stuff. Personally I prefer my oats really thick so I do equal parts oats, liquid, and plain greek yogurt. If you add yogurt or use milk instead of water it will give your breakfast a nice protein boost. Also try mixing in some fruit for additional fiber and nuts or nut butter for healthy fats. Obviously all of these mix-ins add calories, but breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you should focus on eat high-quality, real ingredients more than counting calories.

Good luck and have fun trying out different toppings! :)

    I have NOT tried this.

But I think it would work. There are some grain products that we soak for a few hours before feeding to horses.

Do add something for flavor. Cinnamon, at least, or some fruit.
