How do you think general society would react?

Two groups of people reactions:

1. Critical thinkers

a) investigate provided facts - what is stated and is it self consistent. Consider whether it is consistent with other known facts.

b) investigate sources - what is the source of the information received

c) investigate correlating data - is there multiple sources including hard evidence and facts

d) investigate by initiating follow up - what new evidence could be obtained and set about obtaining it

e) determine the possibility as a likelihood and evaluate risks and contingencies

f) remain calm until the facts are assembled and then act appropriately in accordance with the facts.

2. General public - the order becomes somewhat questionable with this group

a) panic

b) blame someone (government or opposition)

c) ignore the problem

d) demand immediate pre-emptive nuclear strikes on the date concerned, September 18, 2016.

I'd try to imagine myself in group 1, but I doubt I'd be totally immune to the consequence of the reactions of group 2.

Group 1 will apply investigative, deductive and inductive reasoning to find a solution. Group 2 will react according to their presuppositions. The drama that occurred in the story under source(s) shows how this sort of thing has played out in the past.

It is an interesting social science question: How would society react if intelligent life landed on the Earth.

Personally, I think there would be complete, outright panic. And probably for good reason.

I think you need to mix with more people. Not everyone is a nutcase. It seems like you just sat next to the wrong person on the train.

And if all reason was somehow wrong, and space boogiemen really did exist, and one turned up on Earth, people really could not give a shitt, because they have seen so many crappy Hollywood tarradiddles about space boogers that they quite rightly see the whole thing as a big joke.

If they landed in the midst of the ISIS-controlled area in the middle east, we may be wiping out two birds with one stone, or the ETs may get an even worse view of Man than they probably already have... On a personal level, I'd be very interested, because the news of the event would affect everyone on Earth, but I doubt it would change much of what I do - unless it's a prelude to invasion or war...

Firstly, I have no deductions to make of an event that simply isn't going to happen. Claims by someone calling themselves a "contactee" are hardly admissible evidence. This includes claims made regarding aliens who appear to be using the Western Christian calendar. I will have no reactions because it simply is not going to happen.

My deductions of the ladder is anyone that rational people will believe UFO landings IF and WHEN they occur, not when someone predicts them. Anyone can make any prediction they like, doesn't mean its worth considering.

And when the predictor can't use the proper words, their reliability is highly questionable.

I do like the addition of the word "possible", which means that when they don't happen you can claim "Well, I did say they were only possible", thereby absolving you of any responsibility.

I'll make a deal with you. If UFO's land on September 18 and announce to the world they exist, I'll admit I'm full of crap. And if they don't, you do the same thing.

I would think it's a scam because I would almost cetainly notice something big enough to travel through interstellar space entering Earth orbit

Don't panic. Demons use diamonds and souls to power their UFO craft. The bigger the diamond, the more it lasts. Demons have 4 UFO bases: 1)Moon 2)Inside fake mountain Kailash in Tibet 3)In lake Baikal in Russia 4)In Atlantis which is underneath the Mariana Trench in Pacific Ocean. There are no aliens. Nobody lives on other planets. Airplanes that go down are hit by demons because they need the airspace to fight Jesus. Antichrist is pale with red eyes. He's possessed by Satan since he's 12 years old. He flies. He wears gloves to hide long nails. He's surrounded by demons who appear as angels of light.

Don't go into a UFO to be healed by demons. 666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card with no name on it (World Passport). Police will microchip and isotope ray people on highways. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost.
