what are my cats doing?
ok so my 3 month old kitten which is new i got yesterday is running towards my old 1 year old cat and my 1 year old makes noises that sound like mow mraw mraw and when the kitten runs towards it they both get scared.What is happening is this supposed to be friendly or a threat?

They are just getting used to each other. Cat talk. Let them sort it out. I've had many kittens introduced into the normal rotation, and it's all spitting and hissing,and a week later they are all bathing each other. Cats find their own way.
