Taxidermy pets?

My friend, who recently lost her husband and beloved 20 year old cat within the same few months - wants to stuff her cat. I know the cat wouldn't mind. But it seems crazy to stuff a pet. I'd actually cry if a past pet was stuffed in my house. Should I try to talk her out of it, or am I being too much in her business?

Some people do this for a beloved pet. When my first cat Mitten died, I did consider doing this. But in the end I decided not to as I would not want to see Mitten just sitting there never moving. He was buried in a nice box with his blanket at a friend's house.

Everyone grieves in their own way. If having her stuffed or freeze dried pet around helps her, then who is anyone to say it's crazy? Let her morn her loss how she chooses, and just be there for her if she needs an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on.

Unless she just lost the cat yesterday then there's no way she's going to get a many days or many weeks dead cat stuffed!

    Mind your own business!

I think you need to let her do what she wants to haha.

Having a pet stuffed is comparable to having an urn of ashes. Just let her enjoy what she wants.

Like most other answers, I personally would not do it, what we love most about our two wonderful and much loved Ocicats are their delightful personalities, not their beautiful spotted "jungle cat" bodies. But people grieve differently, and if this brings this poor lady some comfort, I will not find fault with her.

Let her do what she wants. I think that's kinda creepy too and it would make me sad also but If she wants to do this let her

I thinks it's horribly gross!... But, if she wants to, I guess you have to let her. Did she stuff her husband?
