How long do stewing chai ingredients last?

I decided to make my own chai tea lattes, put root ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, black peppercorns and cardamom in boiling water in a jar with a lid on a couple of months ago. I totally forgot about it, will it still be OK to use?

These ingredients are very antibacterial, so it is likely still good.

Give it a smell, if it smells okay, give it a taste, if it tastes ok, then it's all good! Either way, boil it again, this kills anything lurking.

that should be long enough steeping time to make a seriously strong brew! As long as it isn't stale looking or tasting it should work well!

I would use a teaspoon of that steeped liquid per cup?

    Tea will grow bacteria.

When making tea, either drink it while it is still hot, or refrigerate within 1-2 hours.

    Otherwise, throw it out.

I would not use it as its basically water in an unsterilised jar - no telling what could have grown in the water in a month
