Is it stupid to buy you textbooks ahead of time on a cheaper website?

I know that some classes don't use textbooks or make them mandatory to bring, but I am worried that they won't be delivered on time and that I will have to end up buying them at my college bookstore which is really expensive.

You have two choices. Buy them now for cheaper but possibly not need them. Money wasted. Buy them later for much more money, money wasted also. Either way you take a chance but if you do buy them now, and even tho they aren't mandatory, you may find them helpful.

better safe then sorry BUT that being said not all your classes will use your text book i am one of the few who waits LAST LAST second and yea it is more expensive in the long run but iv saved a few bucks here and there for books hat we never used but then again it evened itself out so you are fine plus a text book is helpful when you get stuck

I would just get the used one online.

my experience has been that you DO need the book for the majority of your classes....

and if they don't end up using it....then you can always sell it online again.

considering the abusive way the book stores charge insane prices........

I would definitely avoid them if possible.
