Can anyone identify the described horror movie?

What I remember is that the movie is at least from 2000+. I remember it being about a (Spanish?) guy and his wife. The guy discovers/builds a portal to some evil, hellish mirror world of our own in what I think was his basement.

Somewhere near the end of the movie he gets trapped in the evil mirror world and his evil doppelganger takes over his life.

Any help would be appreciated.

    it's a horror anthology film and what you described sounds like one of the segments (called 'Parallel Monsters') . I think its the 3rd segment.
