Fired for something that wasn t my fault?

I was working at Walmart for about a month and a half( and honestly hated it). I was supposed to work last weekend but I sprained my ankle and called out for both days. Doc said it was pretty bad and had at least another week before I could work, yesterday I went to log in to their system to get my Associate Id# to call out again and tell them, but it said I was terminated. Should I talk to them about it or look for another job? I m a 19 yo college student and this is only my second job btw.

If you hated working at Walmart, this is your chance to get out of there and find a job that you like. You might want to go in and tell them (and show them) that you really were unable to work because of what happened to your ankle. Let them see that you were not just lazy. Be attentive to the job and to them. Give them your full attention and act as if you really care. They might just hire you back. But, the main thing is for you to leave on GOOD TERMS.

Pretend that you really cared about the job. But more than that, let them know that you really cared about your position being covered while you were out with a sprained ankle. This is good practice for you. Because if this is the second job that you have had so far, you need to know how to protect your WORK RECORD. This is a new world of work out there. These companies will fire you and make sure they never hire you back for even the smallest infraction. Evidently a lot of people are horrible in the work place. They show up late and do a lousy job when they do show up. They steal and they lie and they are undependable. You better show that you are 100% different from these types. Go back there and show your best side.

If they suddenly decide they like you and want to re-hire you, then PRETEND you are happy and pretend you love coming to work. In the future when you do decide to leave forever, give them a two week notice. And state the exact date that will be your last day. They will appreciate that gesture and give you a good LETTER of REFERENCE, which will be very useful to you.

An employee that has only been there for 6 weeks and is already out on a medical condition that will keep you out for another 7 to 10 days if not longer will get terminated (any employer)

You said you didn't like the job anyway,so get healed up and move on, you were going to quit before too long anyway, so they did you a favor by cutting you lose

And yes it is legal. If you call HR will direct you to the store manager who won;t talk to you (he/she doesn't have to) or if he/she does they will say excessive absenteeism as the reason which is a correct answer

No, you were NOT fired for something you did not do. It may not be your fault you were injured, but you were absent from work for more time than the employer was willing to accept. You were fired for cause.

Both. You call HR and find out what happened. In the meantime, you look for work.
