Impossible to say due to all the lies about Chrsitian numbers but there are significantly more atheists than Chrsitians!

Try a little reality!

The churches own figures show only 28% who claim to be Christian ever attend church in a year. Indeed if 28% ever tried to attend church on the same day, even working shifts, there is simply not enough churches!

But count the bars - in many places there is more space in the bars than the churches!

Count all the seats in every church in a town and compare that to the population and it is very unlikely to achieve even 5%!

This is true right through the Bible belt and in Salt Lake City!

Go on have the courage to count the seats!

Then try attending a service in each church and see how many of those seats are empty!

This is hard to say, because people often don't want to admit it, and when polls on this are done, people are usually asked if they are an atheist, and people tend to reject that label because they don't want the social baggage and often don't really even understand what that means.

Also, it might depend on how "God" is defined. If defined very specifically, like the god described in the Bible, it might not even be a majority. If described in more vague terms however, letting people define the term for themselves, then definitely still a solid majority of Americans.

Even then though, it's hard to say for sure. A lot of people say they do, but don't. My sister is a believer, and her husband confided to me that he doesn't really believe. I think there are far more of these types than we might think. People tend to go along to get along. It's more about being a part of their families and communities, but deep down, I think there are many who do not believe--not really.

Beyond my brother-in-law, how do I know? I don't suppose I really KNOW, but one thing I do know--when the cancer diagnosis comes, a lot of people who claim to believe in God and Heaven sure don't hesitate to opt for the chemotherapy. Why would you do that if you TRULY believed that a perfect, eternal paradise was awaiting you?

100% of the world's population is atheist regarding the vast majority of the deities of the world's religions. For example, YOU are almost certainly an atheist as regards gods such as Odin and Zeus. It is difficult to accurately estimate the number of people who go the extra step and reject ALL deities, but I imagine it is somewhere around 10-15% worldwide.

Nobody knows exact percent of atheists.

Because there are too many closet atheists in Muslim predominant countries. Leaving Islam in these countries can get death sentence.

10-15%. A lot of people also factor in non-religious into atheism, but I don't do that. If you WERE to do that, then it'd be like 30%
