How is the denomination you are a member of different from the church described in the New Testament?
There were no denominations when the church was first established. Therefore, if you are a member of a denomination, you are a member of an organization that did not exist then, but the church did exist. So how is your denomination different? Why not just return to the original pattern for the church?

I will be happy to answer your question. Why so many churches?
The Lord promised to build His church and He did just that by giving His life on the cross. He died, was buried, and raised from the dead three days later. He then commissioned His apostles to wait in the city of Jerusalem for the promise of the Father, and following the receiving of that promise they were to go into all the world and preach the gospel.
Acts 1 & 2, the apostles (and only the apostles), received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke with new tongues "as the Spirit gave them utterance." Jews was all over, who were in the city for the Pentecost, were amazed that they heard these men in their own language! What they heard was the gospel of Christ, preached for the very first time!
Many were convicted of sin and asked what they must do? They were told to repent and be baptized into Christ for the remission of their sins. Many gladly received that message and obeyed it! The church that the Lord promised to build became a reality! This was all that was believed for several hundred years.
However, men are never satisfied with the truth and so some departed from the faith, just as the apostles had predicted. Church leaders gathered and adopted the first formal creed, the Nicean Creed, 325 AD. The apostasy was on its way to becoming fully grown! Many years later they came up with a word the world had never before heard: Pope! In 606 AD, Boniface accepted the title of Universal Bishop, or Pope, of the apostate church, the Roman Catholic Church.
Mark it down: departure number one!
Many years later, Martin Luther was sick with the abuses of the RCC and so he nailed his famous 95 Thesis on the church door -- was excommunicated -- later died and men began calling themselves Lutheran.
Departure number two!
During the Reformation this process was repeated until everybody had their own church! Presbyterian and Methodist and later on Baptist and Mormon and and and and and and..............
Departure number 300 or 400 or 500!
THAT'S why there are so many denominations in the world today!
However, in the middle of this historical mess, there have been men and women, albeit few in number, who have not departed from the faith and kept right on worshiping and serving the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.
Wow, I'm probably going to get a million thumbs down for this! lol

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelations 14:12
You can find one church that follows this description. Many religions claim to be the one but they do no keep God's commandments. God did not abolish the law or contradict Himself. God's holy day was never changed from Saturday to Sunday. Also, the Old Testament is just as valid as the New Testament.

Lots more people. Lots more projects. More uniformity in worship. Survival is not an issue. The imminent end of time is not an issue.
