My cat has dandruff on her hindquarters. Is it safe to use a medicated shampoo on her or should I hunt for something pet specific?

Human shampoos are too harsh, can actually be toxic if they contain tea tree oil (essential oils, especially tea tree oil, is highly toxic to cats!) and won't help with dandruff anyway since it just further dries out the skin.

Feed a better diet - either go to canned foods or add a half a teaspoon of coconut oil once a week on the dry food. The cat's skin is needing better nutrition.

Your cat uses a Pet Shampoo.

    HUMANS use Human Shampoo.

Your cat is not a HUMAN.

Cat skin is not human skin and can be easily damaged PERMANENTLY.

Oil is a good addition to the diet.

A little more Variety in diet helps too.

Try more than just ONE variety of cat food or one wet food. Cats just like you do enjoy something different to eat instead of the same thing day in and day out.

The flaky skin (Dandruff) is a NUTRITION issue.
