Is it ok to let kitten chase laser?

I have heard it is potentially frustrating/harmful for cats to chase a laser pointer light. Is it ok for my kitten to play with one?

Backstory: we got the kitten last week. He was very sick and we nursed him back to health, but had him quarantined away from the other cat. Now he is better and full of energy. I tried other toys, but he REALLY goes for the laser pointer. So much that if we come into his room or stop playing, he looks all over the place and meows woefully because he wants to play with it. He can go for hours with this toy.

Could I be overstimulating him or frustrating him? I am afraid of overwhelming him since this is all new but he doesn't seem too bothered.

For a little while, 10 min. tops. You don't wanna drive him totally nuts.

Get off your fat a$$ and wave toys that he can grab, catch, bite. Laser toys are VERY frustrating to cats. You also shouldn't be overworking a kitten that was just recently very sick - WTF?
