If Jesus is the Son of God, or God, whichever you want to believe, why did Jesus need to study the Bible?

If Jesus is the Son of God, or God, whichever you want to believe. (I'm not here to argue if Jesus is God or not, but you can argue that, just don't make it your main purpose)

Why did it take Jesus 34-35 years to Do what he was meant to do, in this case Die on the cross. He could have done it at 20, once he convince everyone that he is the way to heaven. Plus why would Jesus need to study the Bible, since he was claiming to be the son of God, shouldn't Jesus already know everything God knows, plus if Jesus is God, Jesus wouldn't need to read the Bible AT ALL, Jesus should already know. So tell me, how can Jesus really be the son of God or could it all be a lie and he was just delusional.

His whole life story is not recorded, that's how you can tell he is just a fictional character invented by the Romans.

Thousands of deluded jews got executed for High Treason.

Jesus acted at the will of the Father. He didn't need to "study" the Bible, He Himself was the Bible-come-to-life! There had been a time frame established, and recorded by the Prophet Daniel, in his prophecy of the 70 weeks. Perhaps you should study the Word of God. Start with 1 Corinthians 2:14.

This is how I see it. As God's Son and as a human, perfect human being, Jesus needed to refresh, so to speak, his memory. He was only human and so grew like one. The Bible says this, speaking of Jesus, at Luke 2:40 ~ "And the young child continued growing and getting strong, being filled with wisdom, and God’s favor continued upon him."

and Luke 2:52 ~ "And Jesus went on progressing in wisdom and in physical growth and in favor with God and men."

The Bible also tells us that Jesus went to the temple with his human parents to do worship there. Luke 2:41,42 ~ "Now his parents were accustomed to go from year to year to Jerusalem for the festival of the Passover. And when he was 12 years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival." You can see about this festival at Exodus 34:23 ~ “Three times a year, all your men are to appear before the true Lord, Jehovah, the God of Israel." You do well to ask 'Why would Jesus go to a temple to worship if he is God?' .....

He is fully man, and fully God. It was necessary to do as it's written. He is the mediator betwixt God and man. Keep reading the scriptures. Amen.

Because God has His own timing. In everything. As a Jewish boy and young man studying the Torah is a cultural thing. He was no different from any other Jewish boy in His upbringing.

  • He did not use a "bible"..... the Bible was not compiled until almost 300 years after Jesus' time on Earth

He didn't need to study the Bible, for one thing the Bible did not exist. What did exist he had witnessed the writing of it and to some degree "penned" it.

As for thirty- he had to abide by the ordnances of the Law of Moses. There were also social mile stones he had to achieve.

Very likely by age thirty he had amassed a small fortune which he walked away from to begin his ministry.

There is clearly more that we don't know then we do know.

    I have a suggestion:

When you see Jesus ask him!

Jesus loved Scripture. You spend time with things you love. How many of us read books about things we are already familiar with? Lots of us.

Rabbinical law clearly states that a person must reach age 30 before they can become a priest. He came to earth to fulfill the law. To do that He ‘restricted Himself’ to the form of a man... including all our limitations.
