I am 76, female and have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Would it be a good idea to get a stationery bike for exercise? Thank you?

    YES. definitely.

I am 72 years old with osteo-arthritic knees but I cycle up to 50 miles each week.

No, get the recumbent bike. It's way more comfortable and easier on the joints. You'll hate an upright bie.

Talk with a physical therapist. They can be very helpful.

Any exercise is better than no exercise, but non-weigh bearing exercises do not help osteoporosis. Look at the website "silver sneakers" for some exercise videos that can target your specific issues. Water aerobics, yoga, or tai chi would be a better exercise for you.

It certainly is. With both conditions you need to take regular exercise. Sitting around makes it worse.

Prince Charles wife Camilla has both conditions and she is never off her feet, she is 70.
